What is Kombucha?
I’ve been seeing people talk about this healthy drink for a few months now. I’m pretty sure I’m late to the party, but hey…better late than never, right? For most of my life, and for as long as I could take care of myself, I’ve always been hesitant to take medicine and OTC drugs. Not too sure why this was, but it’s more trusted to do things the natural way in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong, now that I’m in my 30’s, if I get a tension headache, a lay-down-method isn’t always in my favor or conducive to my schedule anymore, so I typically pop a couple of ibuprofen’s to knock it right out. But when it comes to my overall health and wellness, it’s crucial for me to know how to alleviate and prevent short and long-term illnesses with natural remedies.
You ever wonder if some of these get rich quick schemes ever work for people? I sit back and wonder if those pop up ads I get bombarded with have any validity or truth. I never take the time to discover this, but what I do take my time to look into is how to be a healthier me. So I finally decided to see for myself what the ancient Chinese drink was all about. I went to Whole Foods and bought the Health-Ade brand because I saw a chef and another trusted source rave about it. With ingredients like black tea (sometimes green tea), “SCOBY” (symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast), vinegar, b-vitamins, enzymes, probiotics and a high concentration of acid, it works to keep you energized (from the amounts of iron), it helps with liver issues, stomach ulcers, leaky gut, and the robust amount of antioxidants and vitamin C helps with your immune system. I totally understand everything isn’t for everyone, but I figured you’d never know until you try it. Read more than one article and medical sites for any negative side affects and make sure you’re getting the best and highest quality when buying it at the store. Doing your own research is important, but I’m just hear to spread the good news of why kombucha has been so successful in these last 2000 years. We should take care of ourselves inside and out, and I want to live my best healthiest life. It’s not always easy since I tend to have a bad habit of eating chips and occasional sweets, but if you balance those bad eating habits with natural foods and drinks- at least we are going in the right direction.
