The Power Suit for 2018

womens suit

Let’s be honest, most of us prefer to slide in a pair of worn in sweats and run out to do whatever it is on our to do list for the day. Women are T I R E D. We have this and that to do, and there’s really no slowing down. But there are the days when dressing up is pretty much a necessity. And they do say, ‘a women with a power suit can move mountains’ (I’m kidding, I just made that up), but just think about it. Hillary Rodham Clinton in her suited and kitten-ed heel ensembles during her presidential campaign was giving us major boss vibes. And the infamous Jenna Lyons (former creative director for J. Crew) owned it in her matching suits and smart specs. It’s just something that a 2 piece does for us. Nope, I’m not talking about Popeyes (although, that’s not a bad idea), I’m speaking on a power suit that can be taken from day to night. From a tuxedo style jacket to a double breasted blazer, it is very necessary for you to own your very own in 2018. So, let’s see some style inspiration and a few similar options to get you one in your closet. (top image via pinterest)

A tuxedo style suit lends a masculine appeal but when it is styled with a low neckline top like the left photo or in a cropped version like the right photo, it gives more of a feminine look. (image via) Satin Cropped blazer and pant set

So in love with this boyish version with an oversized fit. You can always have your suit tailored to fit your preference for your body. Here is a pre-owned MaxMara Camel Wide-leg pant suit (image via pinterest)

A navy or black pinstriped suit is classic and poised. A pop of red like the heels on the left is the perfect topping to a business outfit. Pinstriped Blazer and Pants (image via
