Summer Seventeen is looking mighty tasty. If you love a good homemade lemonade, please feel free to give a virtual applause. Nothing’s better than a refreshing drink on a hot summer’s day, so I wanted to try this strawberry basil lemonade recipe to see what my go to drink would be for the season. I think this may be the winner. I used a combination of two recipes. Because I didn’t have agave (which is healthier) I used fine white sugar to sweeten. Check out the recipe below, and make sure to serve this at your next gathering or just for the family. Oh…and if you want to add some gin or vodka to it, be my guest.
What you need:
With a blender, add the 8 sliced strawberries, lemon juice, and 5 basil leaves until it is nicely blended. Add this to your pitcher. Mix the water and sweetener together and then pour it into the pitcher. Mix it all together. You can slice up more strawberries and drop them in the pitcher, along with sliced lemons and small basil leaves. I put my pitcher in the refrigerator for about and hour and then served my drinks over ice. It was super delicious!
Hope this drink recipe inspires you to get jiggy with a delicious lemonade for Spring/Summer! Here are the recipes I used.
