Some of us are naturally tall, and then there are people like me who alters her height with a full on illusion. Just like this ensemble – where a pair of long flares are worn with a platform heel adding up to over 5 inches – I faked the funk. In reality, the older I get, the more I skip the stiletto and go for a comfy brogue or sneaker. I’m usually in a pair of skinnies or mom jeans, so there is really no thought in what shoe Im going to wear them with, but when it comes to my bell bottom pants, the hem leaves me no choice but to make myself taller. These Brian Atwood’s were the perfect combo for my newest, paisley-printed pants. I scored these at Nordstrom Rack while looking for something to wear to Jay-Z’s concert. You’re probably wondering if I wore these shoes as well, and #issaNO. I put on my leather combat boots which in hindsight, I should’ve worn heels instead. I chose comfort over misery and was slightly annoyed with my pants dragging on the floor the entire night. You should’ve seen how I was golding my pants up…ugh…not cute. I switched out of my cardigan (which is super cozy by the way) and changed into my leather biker jacket. I am in love with these pants and can’t wait to style them again. Maybe I’ll get them tailored so I don’t have to feel obligated to strut in anything over 2 in.
