Coats off to Rebecca Minkoff for staying ahead of the curve when it comes to what her fashion fans want. There has been talks abut the “See Now. Buy Now.” retail model with current runway shows giving instant access to what you see on the runway. Minkoff was one of the early adopters for this idea, so in due time we will find out how effective this is with millennial shoppers and simply folks who just simply can’t wait for the goods. I attended the show on Saturday with a gang of other fashion editors and bloggers who witnessed a street runway affair with a live band. Since we are stepping into Fall and while everyone else are showing their Spring/Summer collections, Rebecca Minkoff ruled the scene with crushed velvet ankle boots (A trend we are seeing a lot of right now), wool coats and motorcycle jackets, statement sweatshirts with words like “French” on the front (So wait…you mean I can buy this right now??), and flowy flirty dresses which can be layered with cardigans and coats. She never seems to let us down with fashion-forward, modern pieces that still are classic for years and years. I also appreciate her idea to put in real people AKA fashion bloggers like Chriselle Lim and Shea from Love Peace Shea. The models were beautiful in every way and represented what real beauty is. Thanks Rebecca Minkoff for such a great show! I mean…you closed down and entire street to serve fierceness!
