Last Wednesday, I took a last minute trip to NYC for a fashion show and to just get away with my girl and blogger friend Alice Joy. We arrived to the big city around 11am, and I hit up a cafe right away to get some work done from my laptop. I knew my day would be pretty hectic considering I would be squeezing in a few things in such a short period of time. I had a pretty lengthy to-do list (who was I kidding???) and hoped and prayed that everything would work out. Well, guess what? – it didn’t. Hey, charge it to the hustle and bustle game of being a fashion blogger who wants to take pics, go find a newsboy cap that was no where to be found, have dinner, go to a show and visit the newly cute and vibey ChillHouse in Essex. Luckily, I was able to hit up the cafe/spa to get a sneak peak of what they had to offer.
We were certainly impressed after walking what felt like 2 miles to get there. I will admit – I was a bit nervous because the neighborhood started to change (it’s close by Soho) and I couldn’t imagine such a modern place being smack dab in the middle of the area. But lo and behold, we spotted it right across from the Essex House, and ran in there to save our dying cell phone batteries and aching feet. AliceJoy and I were able to snap some cool shots of the place and indulge in the prettiest pink drink called a beetchata. If you’re not familiar with Chillhouse, it is a downtown escape for city dwellers looking to partake in their spa services (the cutest manis or massages) or just to simply take your laptop or book there to chill with a latte. The founder, Cyndi Ramirez who also runs the blog TastetheStyle.com, is a girl boss that I’ve admired for a while now, so its always great to support! Chillhouse seems to get the woman who are the on the go, love to get pampered but at an affordable rate with a chic and stylish experience. Definitely my kind of place. Check out more pics below.
