It has been a couple of weeks since Summer’s passed and with the leaves changing and the temperature dropping, it’s time to stow away some of our summer threads. If you’re like me, you may still have a tight grip on some of those pieces and just can’t seem to let go. The beauty in transitional seasons like Fall are the clothes in our closets that can be suitable from June to November. With summer trends like wide brim hats, A-line, knee length skirts, and billowy tops sweeping the blogosphere and streets, fortunately these pieces can still very much work for us. It’s no surprise that the decades in full throttle are the 60’s and 70’s and with colder climates coming, this is the perfect time to continue playing around with the styles from those unforgettable times. I’d like to think shows like Mad Men has us all in our feelings about flirty skirts, a little fringe, and super cool hats. But somehow, skirts have majorly been on my radar as a powerhouse trend that will take your Fall wardrobe to the next level (as you can see here and here).
And if you need more proof that a knee-length, A-line skirt can work from summer to fall, WhoWhatWear has more street style inspiration for you, from some of our favorite fashion editors and street style stars. Now a days, skirts don’t have to be paired with heels or prim flats – the sneaker trend has made it okay to mix prissy with sporty. You can even go preppy if you’re feeling collegiate chic. Modcloth has a sweet collection of skirts for that. A tea skirt, knee length skirt is a summer trend that can adapt with any season and here are three ways to wear the look (with 2 out 3 being extremely affordable) for you lovelies.
